KiwiRail: Northern Explorer – Waitomo stop added.

Yes, this is great news; Kiwi Rail is reinstating the Otorohanga stop on its Northern Explorer train service between Auckland and Wellington so you can visit Waitomo Caves. It will be on a ‘booked stop’ basis so if there are no booked passengers the train will not stop. Kiwi Rail and Waikato Tourism are developing packages to include the train fares, accommodation.

While you are at Waitomo you might like to face your fears on the extreme Black Odyssey Caving Adventure.
For the first time ever, adrenaline junkies and those looking for an extreme challenge can push themselves to new heights with this dry caving experience. Different technical caving techniques are used to complete this underground journey that will test your limits.
The four hour adventure is led by expert guides from the Legendary Black Water Rafting Company and involves extreme traversing and mind blowing heights as you edge across bridges elevated above roaring streams, spider walk through ancient rift passages and challenge yourself with technical high rope work, abseiling and flying foxes.

If you are like me you will be more interested in the newly opened 1 million dollar spa at Treetops Lodge & Estate, dedicated to totally new ways of experiencing heritage taonga (treasures) of Indigenous Spa and total wellness therapies in Rotorua, New Zealand’s most important centre of traditional Maori tribal culture.

I would love to help you book this, or answer any questions.
